“That ICPA Qld lobbies the Department of Education (DoE) and ECEC to review the criteria and approval process for rural schools to deliver state-delivered Kindy when the school community demonstrates the need.”
Explanation:
While the school may fall short of the kilometric cutoff, the need is clearly there. Families are currently leaving the community to access Kindy, travelling long distances and facing the tyranny of distance along a major transport route. With the increasing cost of living and diesel crisis facing rural Queensland, this is no longer viable, and these children may ultimately miss out on accessing Kindy altogether.
